Back Home

After waking up from our Holiday Inn experience and taking much needed and appreciated showers, we headed to Columbus Ohio for a show at the Scarlet and Grey Cafe. The opening band was a cover band, so we got to sit back and enjoy hearing and singing along to some Alkaline Trio, Saves The Day, and Gin Blossoms covers. The headliner was a band called House of Cards who were super nice guys and gave us a great place to stay. After drinking too many dollar priced drafts and eating our weight in pizza we called it a night.

Our last show of tour was Sincerity Fest in Springdale PA, a two day festival consisting of all tough-guy hardcore bands and then yours truly thrown into the mix. As you can imagine, we felt pretty out of place. Two huge scary hardcore guys were playing "rock, paper, scissors" literally over Greg's head at our merch table and outside some guy who looked like he was in P.O.D yelled to me that I looked like I was going to a business meeting and not a hardcore show...this was not the typical environment that we're used to playing in. Luckily we were entertained by our friends from York PA who came out, and the Sheetz which was done the street (by the way, if you've never been to a Sheetz, get yourself there! it's becoming one of our favorite stops, besides Tim Horton's of course). Anyway, all of our worrying that we were the only band playing that you couldn't punch people to was gone by the time we played our first song. The bands and audience turned out to be really friendly and accepting of our different sound after we played, and we even got to talk to some pretty cool people.

After the show we got ourselves a room at the Sommerset Days Inn and preceded to have a pretty great end of tour hang out which consisted of me laughing way too hard at my own terrible Superbad impressions, all of us talking about the first time we met Mitch, an intense pillow fight, and finally having to keep quiet when our neighbor yelled at us at 4 am for being to loud.

Now we are back in New York recharging for our august run with "All The Day Holiday." The midwest was great to us, thanks to anyone that came out to the shows and especially to all the people that gave us a place to sleep for the night.

Make sure to check back, as we'll be updating when we're out in August.
